Dan Lacovara, LMFT, CCTP
Dan Lacovara is a licensed marriage and family therapist in the District of Columbia and California and is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
He received his masters degree in clinical psychology in 2011 from Antioch University and began his career at the Los Angeles Gay and Lesbian Center, working primarily with clients dealing with substance abuse.
In 2012, Dan joined the team at the internationally known Center for Healthy Sex in Los Angeles. There, he received advanced training in the treatment of sex and love addiction, providing sex therapy for individuals and couples, and running recovery process groups. He served as a lead therapist for the Center’s intensive outpatient program, and conducted clinical outreach, educating students and pre-licensed clinicians in the field of sex addiction. Dan has lectured locally and nationally about the field, including at the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Specialists.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys hosting “pasta Sunday” for family and friends and sings in the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington.
