James Hardin, LCSW-C, MAC
Group Facilitator

With over 20 years of experience as a therapist and licensed clinical social worker, Jay Hardin has dedicated his career to supporting adults and young adults dealing with substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and the aftermath of trauma. Acknowledging how these challenges affect not only individuals but also their partners and families, he has helped individuals, couples, and parents improve their relationships despite these obstacles.

Jay is a certified Master Addictions Counselor in addition to holding his LCSW license. For more than five years, he led the substance abuse services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, providing care to active-duty military personnel, retirees, and their dependents—including everyone from junior enlisted members to flag officers and members of Congress.

His professional journey also includes work in schools, hospitals, and private practice, with over three years dedicated to providing and training others in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Jay lives in Takoma Park with his wife of 17 years, their three children, and two dogs.
