Finding the right outpatient rehab can feel overwhelming, especially when you are balancing work, school, relationships, or family responsibilities. At Verve Behavioral Health, we believe effective treatment should support your daily life, not remove you from it. Our Washington, DC treatment center provides individualized outpatient treatment for adults experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and co-occurring concerns through evidence-based, compassionate care.
Whether you are considering entering treatment for the first time or transitioning from another program, our team will help determine the appropriate level of care based on your goals, symptoms, and circumstances. You can learn more about our approach and how we personalize every stage of the recovery process.
What Is Outpatient Rehab?
Outpatient rehab allows patients to receive structured therapy, counseling, and clinical support while continuing to live at home. Unlike residential treatment or inpatient treatment, outpatient services are designed for people who can safely remain in their community while receiving ongoing care.
Many individuals benefit from outpatient treatment programs because they can continue working, attending school, caring for their family, and maintaining important responsibilities while participating in a comprehensive treatment program. For those who require a higher level of care before outpatient services, inpatient and outpatient treatment often work together as part of a broader continuum. Our admissions team can help determine which option best fits your needs.
If you have questions about whether outpatient care is right for you, we encourage you to contact our team for a confidential conversation.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
One of our most requested services is our intensive outpatient programs (IOP), which provide structured clinical care without requiring clients to step away from their lives. Our intensive outpatient services are designed for adults managing drug addiction, substance use, depression, trauma, anxiety, or other behavioral health disorders.
Unlike inpatient care, clients attend scheduled sessions several days each week while continuing to live at home. Treatment may include individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatric support, experiential programming, and practical coping skills that can immediately be applied outside the facility.
Partial Hospitalization
For individuals who need additional clinical structure without overnight stays, partial hospitalization may be recommended. This level of care provides more frequent treatment while still allowing clients to return home each evening. As progress is made, many individuals transition into an IOP or other forms of outpatient care.
Group Therapy and Individual Therapy
Successful recovery rarely happens alone. Our clinicians combine group counseling, group sessions, and individual therapy to help clients build insight, strengthen coping strategies, and develop healthier patterns.
Group therapy offers opportunities to learn alongside others facing similar challenges while building meaningful social support. Individual sessions allow clients to work one-on-one with a therapist to address personal goals, emotional concerns, and barriers to healing.
When appropriate, we also encourage family involvement. Including family members in treatment can improve communication, strengthen the client’s support system, and promote healthier relationships throughout the recovery journey.
Addiction Treatment for Drug and Alcohol Concerns
Our addiction treatment services support adults experiencing challenges related to drug and alcohol use, other substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health conditions. Every person’s experience with addiction is different, which is why we never rely on a one-size-fits-all approach.
Our team focuses on evidence-based interventions, relapse prevention, skill development, and personalized care planning that supports long-term recovery. We understand that early recovery often comes with challenges, and our goal is to provide continued support as clients build healthier routines and greater confidence.
If you are unsure whether outpatient treatment is the right fit, our clinicians can discuss your history, current symptoms, and treatment goals to determine the most appropriate next step.
Admissions Process
Beginning treatment should feel clear and manageable. Our admissions process starts with a confidential assessment, during which we evaluate your needs, review insurance, and determine the most appropriate level of care.
We work with many major insurance providers and can help you determine whether our services are in-network and explain the anticipated cost of care before you begin. Throughout the process, our staff remains available to answer questions and help you feel comfortable moving forward.
