Susan Berlin began her career as a therapist in 1989 at the Caron Foundation, a drug and alcohol rehabilitation program that also specialized in codependency and adult children of alcoholics. At Caron Susan discovered her passion for and joy in helping people find more of themselves. In 1992, She moved to New York City from Pennsylvania to begin her private psychotherapy practice and simultaneously helped to create and implement a dual focused (mental health and substance use/abuse) Intensive Outpatient treatment program for United Hospital/Mediplex in New Rochelle, NY.
In 2000, after much soul searching and with a desire to grow more personally and professionally, Susan moved to Washington, DC to establish the psychotherapy practice she has today. In that time, Susan has been recognized as one of “Washington’s best in Substance Abuse & Addiction Treatment” by the Washingtonian Magazine and also received the “Addiction Professional Award” from the Caron Foundation.
